“I started working with Sara, from The Nutrition for Life Project about 5 months ago. To say that this has changed my body, would be, hands down, the biggest understatement of the century.

I came to Sara pretty broken. I was working on recovering from a very serious knee injury, after months of not being able to workout as I used to, mentally depleted, tired of being stuck on a cycle of needing to be *perfect* with my nutrition, over-exercising and then being exhausted from it all.

After following other (very popular amongst Crossfitters) nutrition programs, I finished very lean, maybe too much.  Actually, I was more than lean. I had wasted away. And I was traumatized. I stopped trusting myself and questioning everything I did, ate…

The first few weeks, Sara helped me heal mentally. She gave me tools to make peace with my body. She helped me trust my choices by patiently, non-judgmentally teaching me how to make small, sometimes tiny daily changes that were easy to take on, that today are second nature to me.

Yes, she has helped me change my body composition (as you can see in the pics) but what really matters is, she helped me change my mindset… towards food, exercise, and my body.

During one of our first calls, I told Sara I was about to turn 40 and I was so tired of being in a constant battle with myself. It felt like at 40 I should know how to take care of myself, but this is one of the last things we think about, and one of the hardest challenges.

After decades of struggling with an eating disorder, of years of doubting myself, of not believing I was worthy of the same care I offer others, I will tell you, I have never been healthier, felt stronger, and been happier. 

These two pictures show when I started to work with Sara, when my body was healing, but I was mentally so lost and tired.

And then this is me today! I still workout a TON, but know when to rest. I fuel my body the way I deserve to. Everyday, as I warm up and get ready to workout, I tell myself: ‘I am strong because I trust myself.’  And also note, in this more recent pic, I’M SMILING!

When I say that NFLP is the real deal, I mean it.

I hope more people take the leap and learn how to invest as much love and care in our bodies and nutrition as we do at the gym!”

“I came across the Nutrition for Life Project when my cousin posted a picture of her ‘Morning Margarita’ and tagged Sara. What can I say, I'm a sucker for margaritas, so I had to click through to learn more. What I learned was it was a cocktail of water, sea salt, and lemon or lime and you drink it first thing in the morning to replenish the electrolytes you lose while you sleep. Still delicious and much better for you without the tequila.

Since then, I've been working with Sara for 3 months and it has totally changed my relationship with food. I tried every ‘diet’ on the planet but always seemed to gain weight and feel terrible. But by changing my mindset and my relationship with what I'm eating, I now make better food choices and I eat much cleaner, healthier and more nutritious foods, yet I still don't deprive myself of the occasional treat.

Sara has been a pleasure to work with. She helped keep me motivated and educated on what foods will bring the best results. I feel my body changing. I think my skin looks healthier and, overall, I just feel healthier. It takes time and work to change your habits, but Sara helped keep me motivated and on task and I feel great because of it.
